, the final days of the presidential campaign. just four days to go now before the big vote. president obama was back on the trail yesterday making appearances in three battleground states. he wrapped up his day with a rally in boulder, colorado. the president took some pointed jabs at mitt romney saying his economic plan is just a rehash the policies that led to the country's economic crisis and mr. obama heads to the all important state of ohio later tod today. and for his part, mitt romney was in virginia at several campaign stops. he criticized the president for not doing enough to help businesses. also romney said the nation needs a president who understands business better. romney's aides are conceding that the storm's slowed some of his momentum but insist their internal polls show him ahead in some of those toss-up states. romney visits wisconsin and also ohio today. >>> and from the lighter side of politics, vice president biden went on david letterman's show last night to read his top ten list. >> ah,

as massachusetts governor. president obama said romney targeted the middle class with unnecessary fees and taxes. the president also said it will be hard for romney to accomplish all of the last-minute promises he is making right now. >> in florida mitt romney says the president shrunk from the promises he made. romney says he won't do that and says his tenure of president would include more cooperation across at the isle. rom roll told the crowd now is not the time to demonize political opponented and wants to build bridges with the democrats. >> both president obama and mitt romney have cancelled campaign stops because of hurricane sandy. a stop in virginia will not happen because of the growing threat from sandy, and first lady michelle obama cancelled an appearance in new hampshire tuesday. president obama will head back to the white house from florida sunday night to begin monitoring storm conditions from washington. >>> the election day push is also happening here in california. all over the bay area, phone banks are up and calls are being made to voters. here's the story from oakland. >>

ad from president obama's campaign is raising highbrows tonight over its provocative phrasing. >> your first time shouldn't be with just anybody. you want to do it with a great guy. it should be a -- with a guy with beautiful -- somebody who really cares about and understands women. a guy who cares -- >> she is talking about voting for the first time. while some applaud the ad for clever word play, critics call it tasteless and inappropriate. mitt romney campaigned in ohio tonight, and he talked about the economy. >> these have been tough times to be middle class in america. income is not going up, but gasoline has gone up by $2,000 a family. the health insurance premiums are up by $2500. food cost ropes. these are -- food costs are up. it feels more like backward to a lot of american families, i will tell you that. >> in what was a major economic speech they say president obama made things worse and his policies will turn things around. >>> five states declared a state of emergency. residents are being told to stock up with enough batteries and water and food for three days.
